My friends are doing quite an amazing cycle ride from Taupo to Tokyo to Totnes to help save our planet. Please read Chris's email below and do join in if you feel pulled to it!

Re: Climate Change Green Cycle Expedition 2010-2012- (Taupo to Tokyo to Totnes)

Now that the UK Charity Commissioners have approved the registration of the EARTH PARTNERS FOUNDATION

(registration 1132002) as a charity,

I am planning with gusto the Climate Change Green Cycle Expedition - Taupo, Tokyo, Totnes

START DATE - TAUPO NEW ZEALAND - Sunday 27 March 2010.

We will cycle through the Pacific nations planning to arrive in Tokyo in March
2011. In April 2011 we will leave Tokyo arriving back in the UK in
July 2012 (via China, Mongolia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey,
and Central Europe).

As a reminder, in every single city en route, we will be carrying out
educational training seminars to support sustainable development - drawing on a
combination of Awaken the Dreamer/Be the Change Symposium, Transition
Towns, the Age of Stupid/Climate Change, 1010 and 350 degrees, and
other examples of new sustainable practice. We will also conduct
research while travelling to seek out other models and ideas of what works

as we seek to create a sustainable world.

Many of you have expressed interest in joining the ride for a stage or
two, while others have offered some financial support. This email is
a FIRST communication to remind you that the Taupo to Tokyo to Totnes tour
is officially on! It is also to ask you to think about and start preparing!

Let me know which parts of the tour are of most interest to you. In addition to
myself, there will be up to a maximum of FOUR cyclists doing each stage of the trip.

In addition to paying for your own costs, approximately $10,000, we are
looking for people and organisations to sponsor us per mile and per stage.

We will follow up with more details later, but wanted to give you advance notice that this initiative is on!
